REVISITING THE MOUSE
It's always fun to watch how blogs grow and get out of hand. S L Bradish recently wrote an article entitled ‘M is for Muslim' and gained a lot of grief for the effort. Suffice it to say you can read for yourself what was written on The Political Brief. The comments submitted on this item are truly eye opening however.
One commenter suggested that Bradish might have an agenda of trying to piss off Muslims in general and said that ‘ as a speaker of Japanese I can assure you, a translation is INCREDIBLELY open to biased manipulation.' (sic) To his credit, he did ask where Bradish got the information for the blog as he wanted to see it for himself before passing judgement. Bradish answered with ‘Brenton, maybe you should learn whatever language al Jazeera uses and then you can hear it for yourself. I watched it on Fox News Channel,' in obvious response to his implication that just because the show was translated into English, it was suspect. He got a bit snotty and said ‘Well, that would be ARABIC. That's what they speak in ARAB countries. So there's the truth. You believed the story that was given on a conservative, biased news station, relied on a translation of a language that you don't understand (and have never heard of apparently) they provided, and accepted it all without question, then regurgitated it on your blog in an exagerated way without evidence to support your claims.' (sic) Still, he wants to see the show himself.
I piped up and said the language would be Farsi and it wasn't fair to ask Bradish to know every Arabic language in the world. That started a running commentary from a different, juvenile Muslim, who, true to his religion, takes offence at any and everything that might be written and shows Muslims in a bad light. I was taken to task for saying that Farsi is an Arabic language when apparently it is a completely different language. He compared it to French vs English. He was right, but he failed to recognize that Farsi is the predominant language of Iran, where the show originated. In fact there are more than 6,800 recognized languages throughout the world and Arabic happens to be one of them. Farsi is also the predominant language of Iraq, which this commenter obviously didn't know. He goes on to say, "I'm not surprised at this ignorance you're showing youranter, you and bradish both know very little about Islam or even Middle Eastern culture, your very idea that Farsi is a 'type' of Arabic is laughable, Farsi is a type of Persian language." Sorry, but according to the Encyclopedia Britannica, "Slightly more than half the population (of Iran) speak Farsi (Persian)." I guess the two are interchangeable and Farsi is simply the modern word for Persian. This wasn't enough for him.
I asked if Egyptians weren't Arabs because they spoke Egyptian, or Lebanese weren't Arabs because they spoke Lebanese. I can understand different dialects of different languages, but I can't understand why he made such a fuss and argued what I had said. I said ‘Arabic languages' and ‘Arabs' in the proper context, but he couldn't read and proceeded to tell me how wrong I was. But he said the exact same thing I already had.
As most good Muslims do, he immediately denounced Bradish's article as being made up, untrue and shown only on hate mongering sights such as Fox News. He gave links to the BBC and CNN, sources he trusts to provide him ‘the truth'. He told me to call it quits at this point as he was so right in what he had said. He quoted Wikipedia as a reliable source to his ravings and went so far as to write his own article, pompuosly subtitled ‘Why I Proclaim Checkmate on.....'. He stands up for the ‘Legend of Farfur' (which is actually Farfour, meaning butterfly in Arabic) and continues to berate me and Bradish as know nothings. We won't go into his spelling here as he was probably taught to spell at the same school that ignored the use of capitals, grammar and spelling (he wonders why he gets no respect) and he isn't educated enough to know how or when to use any of the aforementioned. Maybe he just has an e.e. cummings complex. Who knows, or for that matter cares?
Anyway, it didn't take long for his beloved BBC and CNN to pick up the story and he has been backpedaling ever since. This is fun to watch. Refusing to concede defeat, he claims his agenda is based on presenting true and fair stories. Hogwash. He has done the exact same thing he accuses Bradish of. Bradish didn't give references to the original story, which is a shame, but the story was proven to be correct. Our commenter gave references to his research, but he spouted off before he knew the whole story. Any thing Muslims do or say must be correct and taken without question. He won't tell you he asked me to bury the hatchet and argue like grown-ups instead of sniping at one another, but when I agreed, his first comment on another article called me an idiot. I offended him by dropping the gloves and calling him a twit. Childish, I know, but when you deal with a child, sometimes you have to get down to their level before they start to understand.
It is nice to see this character being taken down a peg or two, although he will argue it. Bradish was right when the article was written and has been proven right. Some people just can't handle being proven wrong.

OK, so I'm still not really sure about the Farsi/Arabic thing. But if I was wrong is presuming you were simply ignorant about other cultures in not knowing what language was spoken in Palistine, then I apologise.
However, I do still think that the both of you have a consistant adgena against Muslims. A blind man could see it.

I don't profess to know everything about every religion, but I will research them when I think something might be askew. I've got a common, basic knowledge of most religions and learn something new almost every day.
You're free to put up your 'Jesus Sucks' web site if you wish. Lord knows the Christians weren't lily white throughout their history either. But don't expect the name calling and general vitriol that comes from Ahmed. Be prepared for some good, honest debate.

BTW, i get given rubbish if i write ANYTHING let alone an anti jesus site so i doubt the intellegent debate.
That said, i think Jesus is pretty cool, so won't happen.

I'm not going to debate Ahmed here. However like i said, you throw rocks (Through intent or just inarticulation) you're going to anger whoever gets hit.
