NO PROOF OF EXTREMISTS
"Your so called fundamentalist Islamic enemy doesn't exist"
I suppose I've been upbraided here as I don't know what's going on in the world today. Thank God there are those out there who follow me closely and point out the errors of my ways by making comments like the one above.
Recently, fugitive Taliban leader Mullah Mohammad Omar urged his followers to step up suicide attacks on foreign and Afghan troops and remain united. This certainly is not the sign of a fundamentalist. Islam being nothing more than a peaceful religion just shows its love for others in different ways. But the wars being waged in Afghanistan and Iraq never were against Islam per se. They are against terrorists. Unfortunately, most terrorists today are of the Islamic faith, or are working hard to become a member thereof.
Taliban commander Mullah Hayatullah Khan told Reuters that Omar had contacted senior and regional commanders and congratulated them for carrying out "successful" attacks in recent weeks. "Taliban mujahideen or holy warriors, through unity in their ranks, should continue and increase their guerrilla and suicide attacks on occupation forces and the infidels will soon run away," Khan quoted Omar as saying. "Mullah Omar has ordered us to liberate our country, and we should step up attacks on occupation forces and their puppet Afghans," he said. The Taliban refer to Western-backed President Hamid Karzai and his associates as puppets. Nope, no sign of fundamentalism or extremism there. The Taliban and their Islamic allies such as the al Qaeda network, are largely active in southern and eastern areas close to the border with Pakistan. The Taliban have been copying suicide attacks and kidnapping tactics from Iraqi militants. Gee, who would have thought that Iraq, of all countries, would support and aid the Taliban and terrorists in general?
"Your so called fundamentalist Islamic enemy doesn't exist."
A Fallujah city council chairman, who was a critic of al-Qaida, was killed recently, the latest blow in a violent internal Sunni struggle for control of a terrorist stronghold west of Baghdad. Sami Abdul-Amir al-Jumaili was gunned down by attackers in a passing car as he was walking outside his home. The 65-year-old Sunni sheik was the fourth city council chairman to be killed in 14 months as terrorists target fellow Sunni's willing to co-operate with the US and its Iraqi partners. This is not to say the assassins were fundamentalists. Nor would they, in any round about way, target the US and the Iraqis who co-operate with them. They are obviously just trying to gain the attention of the Sunni's who disagree with them, so they can all sit down and talk the whole thing over. Abdul-Amir's predecessor, Abbas Ali Hussein, was shot to death on Feb. 2. Both men were strong critics of "al-Qaida in Iraq". As all good Democrats/Liberals know, there is no link between Iraq and al-Qaida, and that's why the wars waged in Afghanistan and Iraq are unjust and immoral and we should cut and run as fast as is humanly possible. The terrorists certainly won't bother coming across the pond after us. They are pleased enough with the recognition they gained on 9/11 and are telling their grandchildren about what a good time was had by all even as you read this.
US officials say tribal leaders and even some other terrorists are increasingly repelled by the group's brutality and religious extremism. Perhaps the US officials should read some blogs to learn the truth, that there is no fundamentalist Islamic enemy. This whole war thing could be settled in a hurry. The fact that gunmen broke into the home of Najim Abdullah Suod, the city council chief who preceded Hussein, killing the lawyer and his 23-year-old son on Sept. 24, 2006, and Sheik Kamal Nazal, a cleric, who was gunned down as he walked to work on Feb. 7, 2006, is certainly no proof of radical fundamentalism. The thing is, however, that these killers are pretty indiscriminate when it comes to murdering people. It seems as though when they can't target the coalition forces infidels, they murder their own people. Just to stay in practice, I suppose.
At least 38 people were killed or found dead elsewhere in Iraq, including the mayor of Mussayyib who died in a roadside bombing. Three US soldiers were killed and six were wounded in separate attacks in Baghdad and southwest of the capital, the military said. A roadside bomb killed one US soldier and wounded two while they were on a foot patrol southwest of Baghdad. Another died and three were wounded when their vehicle was struck by a roadside bomb. A combat security patrol was attacked by small-arms fire, killing a soldier and wounding another in an eastern section of the capital. But remember, we are talking about sane people here, not fundamentalists. And certainly they are not our enemies.

In Afghanistan's Laghman province's Alingar district, an intelligence service vehicle driving from neighbouring Nuristan province was hit by a remote-controlled bomb, said provincial police chief Abdul Karim. Six of the agency's workers were killed, while three others were wounded. An intelligence service vehicle was also bombed later in the same province, in an attack that killed two intelligence service officers, a soldier and a driver in the provincial capital Mehtar Lam. In Ghazni province, southwest of Kabul, an intelligence service employee was invited into a home, then kidnapped and beheaded by the Taliban, said deputy governor Mohammad Kazim Allayar. Surely, no one would accuse the Taliban of being radical fundamentalists. Just a couple of good old boys trying to make the rest of the world see things their way. They don't travel to Iraq to train with al-Qaida terrorists either. That is just a falsehood perpetrated by the George W and his administration in order to give his ‘inside job' of 9/11 some credibility. We all know, by this time that, "9/11 was an inside job. PNAC pulled 9 11! They said they would and then they did,. are you suprised? MOST people know this by now, when will your closed little childish mind open up enoph to smell the EMPIRE we live in and just admit it?" (sic)
In southern Zabul province, a roadside bomb hit police as they were patrolling in Shamulzayi district, killing two policemen and wounding five others. Intelligence officers in Kabul discovered a large car bomb in a battered, old taxi parked in a crowded civilian area where NATO and US convoys often drive past. Authorities found inside the car a tank of gasoline, 10 litres of explosive chemicals, three grenades and a mortar. "Honest, officer, I don't know how that stuff got into my cab. Boy, you turn your back for 5 minutes..........." Uh huh.
There have been at least three bomb murder attacks in Kabul this year. There have been 39 suicide attacks in the first three months of 2007, a threefold increase compared to the same period last year, according to the Afghanistan NGO Safety Office. In the latest, a bomb murderer blew himself up in the eastern city of Khost, killing six civilians and wounding 40 others. Thank God the fundamentalist Islamic enemy doesn't exist. It could be much worse if they did.
