I had to laugh at this when I read it. Ontario Transportation Minister Donna Cansfield has proposed green licence plates for sex offenders. Let me say first off, this seems like a good idea. Okay, not for the environmentalists, but if they're not too busy hugging trees even they can see the benefits to this plan.
Right now, sex offenders are required to check in with the police so they can be tracked. I suppose that keeping them under lock and key in the first place is too much of a burden for our judicial system and the cops have nothing better to do than spend ttheir time chasing these perverts around, but that is the matter for a whole different article.
I have a friend who used to live in Boston and he pointed out to me the difference in their licence plates. Unfortunately, lo these many years hence, I forget what that difference was. I think it was drunk drivers vs sober ones. One got a plate with red numbers and the other got black. Seemed like a good system to me.
We have all sorts of colours available to us and most of them have already been staked out. Green was left by the wayside, so why not choose it for the pervs? A sex crime happens in your neighbourhood, check the plate numbers and bring the usual suspects in for a little chat. Saves a lot of shoe leather and knocking on doors. I know Al Gore will disagree with me on this, but screw him. He should have green plates for what he's trying to foist on us. Against all reason and sanity and most of all, our permission.
In Ohio, Wisconsin and Alabama legislators have proposed programs to mandate green plates for convicted sex criminals. What's wrong with having green tags to alert the neighbours that a sex junkie is living in their midst. Just because the a-hole does, what, 6 months behind bars, he should be allowed to follow his chosen career with impunity? I don't think so. Get on him and stay on him until he climbs on the nearest iceberg to float away forever. He is not welcomed here by any means. And if he has to live forever with a sword dangling over his head, so be it. He is lower than the lowest. Let him rot in hell.
" NDP MPP Peter Kormos called the program "downright dangerous." Just imagine," he said. "People in Ohio think green plates mean pedophile. Meanwhile, you're driving with your three kids in the back seat." This is nonsense. People don't notice licence plates or their colour unless you have a really witty personalized one. Cansfield said, "at least one state -- Vermont -- has uniformly green plates. Do the people in Vermont feel at risk?" I wouldn't think so. Peter Kormos has always struck me as a guy with his head screwed on right. On this issue, he's out to lunch as far as I'm concerned.
I don't know about you, but I don't want my son or daughter to have to be afraid to play outside because of somebody's sick sense of humour. Put on that iceberg and let them all sail away. It solves the question of keeping them fed, housed and clothed for the rest of their pitiful lives on our dime and makes the anti-capital punishment crowd happy.

you know my stand on this one buddy...The iceberg thing seems like a great plan, but then some poor eskimo is liable to pick the schlep up and take him home to meet his family...
My opinion? I like that tattoo idea...like big black letters across their foreheads...They chose to go out and ruin someone's life right? So why not keep ruining theirs?
Out here in Cali, sex offenders pictures, profiles, addresses and phone numbers are all given out freely to the public via the tv news stations and papers...Several offenders have even been run out of town by vigilanti groups and concerned citizens who live in the area...
Whenever a sex offender is moving into an area, the local news just goes right out and tells everybody where he's taken up residence! They put his picture on tv and his rap sheet too, so everybody and their dog knows where he is and what he's doing 24/7...
Felons out here think it's an invasion of their privacy! Gimme a freakin break...it's the one right thing Schwarzenegger has done since he's been in office...Recently one sick asshole who cut off the arms of a young girl, raped and beat her half to death was released back into society and he fled here to Southern California...As soon as the news got a hold of him he was literally run the hell out of wherever he tried to settle in...Eventually he simply left the entire state....
Locking them up with three squares a day and color tv off MY tax dollars!? Hell NO! I'm not paying for some sick schmuck to live in relative security and comfort...Bullshit...
They want to give them unusual plates for their cars? I say go for it, but, each plate should say in big fat bold black lettering..."SEX OFFENDER"....Then no one has to question anything...
I think it should be mandatory to have some kind of lettering on their plates to keep everybody informed where these sick fucks are every minute of every day for the rest of their unnatural lives...
That's my opinion anyway...A tad strong for some perhaps so I'll apologise if it offends anyone...My advice? Try being a victim and see how quickly you'll change your mind and support whatever the hell the government sees fit to do to these animals...
